Google has introduced Audio Overviews in Search Labs, an experimental feature powered by its Gemini AI models. This tool generates quick, conversational audio summaries for certain search queries, offering a hands-free way to absorb information. Users can opt into the experiment and, when applicable, tap to receive an audio overview alongside traditional search results.
An AI-generated ad created using Google’s Veo 3 aired during the NBA Finals, costing just $2,000 and taking two days to produce. The commercial, made for Kalshi, featured surreal scenes like an alien chugging beer and a farmer floating in a pool of eggs, reflecting the theme of betting on real-world events. The ad’s rapid production highlights the growing appeal of AI-generated commercials, with companies like Meta exploring fully automated ad creation.
Microsoft has launched Copilot Vision on Windows with Highlights in the U.S., introducing an AI assistant that can see what users see and provide real-time guidance. The feature allows Copilot to analyze content across multiple apps, offering instant insights and step-by-step assistance. Users can opt in by selecting which apps to share, enabling Copilot to act as a second set of eyes for navigation, troubleshooting, and productivity. The rollout is part of Microsoft's broader effort to make Copilot a seamless AI companion across Windows 10 and 11.
Meta's AI app has sparked privacy concerns as user prompts are public by default. Some bizarre AI-generated images, including controversial depictions, have surfaced, leading users to seek ways to turn off public posting. Meta allows users to adjust privacy settings by navigating to the data and privacy section, where they can disable prompt sharing across Facebook and Instagram.
